KS2 Challenge

Stamp it

This challenge is for KS2 pupils working in teams of 1-4. you can send as many entries as you like.

“The world around us is dominated by graphic images. We see them through TV, Film, Magazines, Video Games, The Internet and on all other kinds of documents and promotional material.

One graphic product that has been around since 1840 is the postage stamp.

Stamps, although very small, are big business. Every letter needs one! The Queen is printed on them! People collect them! and some of them are sold for thousands of pounds!

Your task is to design a brand new stamp on the theme of journeys and travel!
The images you include on the design are up to you, but remember to leave room for the Queens’ head!
Judges will be looking for how well your idea fits the theme; you don’t have to be a brilliant artist to become the winner.”

The best 10 entries we receive by the prejudging date will get through to the finals day at Silverstone where their work will be displayed for the judges to see. The overall winner will have the opportunity to work on their design and produce some limited edition products with their design on them!

What do I send in?

We would like you to submit your design on one sheet of A3 paper. You can draw more than one idea, but your final design must be clear. Include notes on your design sheet to explain your idea, and remember your design would need to be made into a very small stamp, so whatever you design needs to be reducible!

Entries should be in by the prejudging date in April, and we will be in touch with you before then, in the mean time make sure you register your entries by the end of January using this form

Good Luck!
